Your 9-Day Itinerary

Day 1Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Pick up and transfer to the booked hotel.

Join our Big 5 safari in Tanzania. Upon arrival at Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will perform clearance at the immigration. Proceed to collect your luggage and then move out to the area where guides and others await their guests. There, you will notice a Home to Africa representative (Tour Driver-guide) holding a placard bearing your names and the Home to Africa logo. You will be received and transferred to the booked accommodation in Arusha to check in and take some rest.

Day 2Transfer: – Arusha to Tarangire NP. Enjoy an extensive game drive.

You will be picked from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tararngire National Park. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River, which crosses the park and is the primary source of fresh water for wildlife. Check in at your booked camp and then, proceed for an extensive game drive on this Big 5 safari in Tanzania.

This quiet park is famous for its large elephant herds, birdlife, and authentic safari atmosphere. During the game drive, there is chance that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. After an extensive game drive through the park, return to your safari camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3Transfer: – Tarangire NP to Lake Natron. Move out and explore the area.

Day 3 of this safari in Tanzania takes us to Lake Natron Area. After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Natron. We will check in and then, move out to explore this area. Natron is home to ancient hominid footprints, the largest breeding ground for Lesser Flamingo and to Ol Doinyo Lengai, and it’s the only active carbonatite volcano in the world.

The lake is also home to endemic algae, invertebrates and even fish that can survive in the slightly less salty water. Other animals which inhabit this area are zebra, ostrich, fringed eared oryx, gazelle, gerenuk, lesser kudu and golden jackal. You will also get a chance to interact with the Masai people and learn about their culture. Dinner and overnight at your safari camp.

Day 4Long transfer: – Natron to Central Serengeti NP. Game drive en route.

After a relaxed breakfast, depart Lake Natron with picnic lunch box(es) for Central Serengeti. Expect an en route game drive before finally connecting to the booked safari camp. After a satisfying encounter with the Serengeti wildlife inhabitants (on this first day), we shall head to the camp for this safari in Tanzania and check in. Dinner and overnight awaiting more of the big 5 encounters tomorrow.

Day 5A whole day out exploring Central Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast, depart the Safari Camp with picnic lunch box(es) for a day’s exploration of the park on this safari in Tanzania. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park.

It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. After a satisfying encounter, return to the Safari camp (late afternoon/evening) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6Another day exploring Serengeti National Park and later relaxation.

After yesterday’s comprehensive exploration of the Central Serengeti, you may choose to divide this day into two halves. 1 half for more game viewing and the other half for relaxation at your camp. On the game drive, expect more of the wildlife that Serengeti is home to; Cheetah, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, Wildebeest, Hartebeest, Topi, Eland, Thomson and Grant Gazelle and many more. Birds: Kori bustard ostrich, secretary birds and many more including the migrant birds from Eurasia. Dinner and overnight at safari camp.

Day 7Breakfast, depart with picnic lunch boxes for Ngorongoro Crater.

A safari in Tanzania is simply incomplete without a visit to Ngorongoro. After breakfast, you’ll depart with picnic lunch box(es) for Ngorongoro Crater – considered by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. When you get your first glimpse of this vast, verdant caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you’ll soon understand why it has earned such a lofty reputation.

Home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought after safari destinations in the world. It’s a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water.

From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, you’ll be able to observe and photograph some of Africa’s most recognizable faces. In the mid-afternoon, you will be transferred Karatu to rest and overnight.

Day 8Drive to Lake Eyasi for cultural tour. Return to Karatu for overnight.

Let’s have some authentic cultural encounter on this safari in Tanzania. After an early morning breakfast, you depart for a cultural tour with the hadzabe community. This is your day with a typical cultural tribe. Hadzabe tribe consists of hunters and collectors, which formerly inhabited the Serengeti, but was forced away by stronger and more aggressive tribes.

The Hadzabe live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned. Like another tribe of hunters and collectors, the San tribe of the Kalahari in southern Africa, the Hadzabe speak in click language. After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 9Karatu to Lake Manyara NP. Explore Manyara and transfer to the Airport.

We check out of the lodge (with picnic lunch box) for a day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Known for its elephants and legendary tree-climbing lions’ population, Lake Manyara is also excellent for flamingos and other fascinating birds in and around the soda lake. Arrive in time to enjoy game viewing.
