Join us on this gorilla tour and affordable African safari. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a Home to Africa assigned English-speaking Professional Tour Driver-guide will receive and welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will transfer to the booked accommodation.

You will check in and take your rest – recovering from jet lag, adjusting to time difference. #Optional (extra cost): Just in case you reached early and interested in some activity, you may consider; a). excursion to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens to sight a few primates and birds, b). excursion to Mabamba wetland in search of the prehistoric shoebill stork. Otherwise, check in and just take your rest.

There will be breakfast and thereafter, we shall hit the road to Lake Mburo National Park. Mburo is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Entebbe/Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah National Parks (on this affordable African safari) but home to 350 bird species as well as animals such as: Giraffes, Zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, Defassa waterbuck, hippo, and the elusive leopard among others. On arrival, we shall check in and take some rest. At about 3 or 4pm, we can move out for a late afternoon-to-evening game drive to encounter Mburo’s inhabitants.

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others.

After this up-close encounter with wildlife, return to the accommodation for checkout and then hit the road to Bwindi National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda (harboring over 300 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population), including several habituated groups, which can be trekked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience tomorrow.

Today is that day you don’t to miss on this affordable African safari. Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger-guide) on the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the forest for your adventure and encounter.

The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken (4-8 hours) and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable.

Return to the accommodation, and rest after a strenuous trek. #Optional (extra cost): In case you finished early and the body is willing to go out again, you can request your guide to arrange; a community visit, or some short nature walk (along one of the forest trails).

This affordable African safari will lead us to the Ishasha and if nature permits, we will have a rare sighting of tree-climbing lions. Have breakfast then set off (about 4 hours) to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey).

Hoping you get the chance to spot them, the sight will be spectacular! We will check in at the lodge where we will have lunch and some rest before moving out for a breathtaking game viewing experience. You will also be able to see other wildlife such as the Uganda kob, Cape buffalos, elephants and warthogs. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner and later overnight.

We will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and game drive our way to the accommodation situated North of Queen. Upon arrival on the other side, we will check in and wait for lunch. At about 3pm, we can move out for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains.

During the game drive/viewing, look out for wild animals like; lions, the elusive leopard, herd of elephants, buffaloes to mention but a few. Alternatively, you could choose to go for the Queen’s breathtaking explosion crater drive (instead). The drive is sightseeing with very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen. Return to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

Accommodation: (Irungu Forest Safari Lodge-Budget Level) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Transfer Time: Approx. 3 hours.

We explore Queen on this affordable African safari package. Be up early and have your breakfast. Proceed for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others.

Return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores.

*After the boat trip, you can decide either to return to the lodge to rest or first proceed for a brief late afternoon game drive and thereafter, return to the lodge. *Optional (extra cost 130$ pp): In case you are interested, you can consider chimp tracking in nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve in place of morning game drive.

Be up early and have your breakfast. Proceed for one more game drive in the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. After a satisfying encounter, we shall embark (right away) for a transfer that will see us check in at an accommodation at the edge of the Kibale Forest NP.

We hope to have lunch at this property and also rest a bit before going out in the Bigodi. The Bigodi wetland boasts of an extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates’ species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, and baboons. The Bigodi is also a paradise for bird watchers. After the beautiful time in the Bigodi, we shall return to the lodge where we will enjoy dinner and then overnight.

Our next stop on this gorilla tour and affordable African safari is the Murchison Falls NP. Have breakfast, check out and embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, leopard, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants among others.

For birders, Murchison Falls boasts about 450 bird species including the grey parrot, dwarf king fisher and the Goliath heron among others. Expect lunch en route. The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way (with very little/no room to be bored). *Detour to visit the top of the falls and thereafter, we head to the accommodation.

Today (on this affordable African safari), you will have a full packed game viewing opportunity in the park. Murchison Falls NP is a home to different wildlife species such as; Buffalos, Jackson hartebeests, elephants, Lions, Giraffes, leopards, Hyenas, among others. They are widely spread all over the Savannah grasslands, grazing or hunting for prey.

These make the park’s landscape so amazing for game viewing/game driving. *To avoid the long drive back to the lodge, we can proceed to Red Chilli and enjoy hot lunch there. After the lunch, we can move back for the second leg of our game viewing. After a satisfying day’s encounter, we shall head back to the lodge to freshen up – awaiting dinner and the overnight stay.

#Optional (extra cost 30$ pp): If interested, you may consider the 11am boat trip towards the bottom of the falls that also offers the opportunity to hike (extra 15$ pp) to the top of the falls.

The 11th day of this affordable African safari package leads to Kidepo Valley NP. Set off very early (about 6am) to Kidepo Valley National Park, arriving in time for some rest and lunch before going out for game viewing. You will proceed (about 3 or 4pm) for game viewing in the Narus Valley in the south sector of Kidepo.

Narus is the sector of Kidepo that has savannah grasslands mixed with acacia woodland. It is also the area of the park with permanent water sources throughout the year and for that matter, most of the animals are in this part of the park. Be on the look for large herds of Buffaloes, elephants, many Zebras, antelope species and the lions, the elusive leopards. You will return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy your breakfast then embark on a sunrise game drive/safari where you will have the opportunity to encounter wildlife including; lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, zebras, or the elusive leopard among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation.

After a good rest, move out for the Karamojong community, cultural encounter that offers a different, unique experience on this affordable African safari package. You will spend a wonderful afternoon (evening) with the Karamojong people and have an insight on their way of life and beliefs. Dinner and overnight at the booked accommodation.

This morning we will have breakfast and then move out to explore the African savannah on foot. Accompanied by an armed ranger-guide, you will venture along dry river beds, over rocky outcrops and through bush land to track the resident wildlife.

If you end up in Kidepo River Valley, a stroll on its wide bed of white sand or in the borassus palm forest which feels like an oasis in the Sahara, is a fascinating attraction. Later (afternoon session), we shall return to the Narus Valley for more African wildlife encounters. Return for dinner and overnight.

Ziwa is our next stop on this affordable Africa safari. Set off early (about 6:30 or 7am) to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary – a successful conservation effort that was set to save the near-extinct rhino population in Uganda. Today, visitors to Uganda have a chance to encounter rhinos thanks to this effort. Once in Zziwa, we shall check in and have some rest.

At around 4pm, move out to explore the Zziwa on a guided nature walk. Walking through this Sanctuary enables one to get a glimpse of the diverse and plentiful wildlife that call this place home. Besides wildlife sighting, you simply get to breathe in the pristine fresh air and soak in wonderful scenery. Just being close to nature. Thereafter, return to the lodge for dinner.

After breakfast, you will move out to the rangers’ point. From there you will proceed for the on-foot rhino tracking (lasting an hour). From the rhino tracking, we will drive off to Entebbe for a drop off at the airport or hotel of your booking.
