Be sure to pack a good pair of binoculars, a flashlight and don’t forget to fully charge your camera and load enough memory to store plenty of stunning photos!

Keep clothing simple, plain, and practical for ultimate comfort while on safari.

If you are hiking, gorilla or chimp trekking then strong shoes or jungle boots are a must. Long sleeved shirts offer proper protection from thorns and insects or add long stockings if putting on shorts.

A hat or cap comes in handy, as do some comfortable shorts, dresses or blouses. Khaki is good for its color and feel. A rain jacket also comes in handy.

IMPORTANT: When packing for a Safari, ensure you have accounted for all weather conditions, but keep it to the essentials and keep it light.

The months of December to February and from June to September are considered the best time to visit East Africa. Some intermittent rain is possible due to unpredictable seasonal changes. However, even if visiting East Africa in “low season” months, the experience is still outstanding. In fact, “low season” months have fewer travellers, meaning you’ll have more of the parks to yourselves.
