Nicknamed “A beautiful wildlife haven”, Lake Nakuru National Park is just the place that can’t afford to miss out on your list. When looking for the endangered species, it is one of the best places in East Africa to look for both the black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes. Other wildlife includes: hippos, lions, leopards and eland. Besides wildlife sighting, visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Any birder or even non-birder here will be mesmerized by a rare spectacle of thousands of pink lesser flamingoes that literally turn the lake surface into some sort of “a pink flower” garden. It’s just mind-boggling!
Getting there: Road transfer mainly.
What to do: Bird watching, nature walk, game drive, camping.
